National Children’s Alliance
2020 National Crime Victims' Service Awards
The National Children’s Alliance is a nonprofit membership organization that promotes and supports communities in providing a coordinated, comprehensive response to child victims of abuse through Children’s Advocacy Centers and multidisciplinary teams. In 2009, National Children’s Alliance leadership implemented the Thriving Kids Initiative with the goal of helping child victims recover from the trauma of abuse and go on to thrive. This year, the National Children’s Alliance received the Award for Professional Innovation in Victim Services. Services we Provide
We are a children’s advocacy, domestic violence and rape crisis center. Together, we create safer communities by changing the culture of violence and offer a path to healing.
As a Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), we work hard every day to ensure that the system designed to protect children does not, in turn, re-victimize them.
We coordinate child abuse investigations, protection, treatment and prosecution efforts through our close partnerships with all of the agencies involved.
Children and families who receive services here at Hopeful Horizons have access to cutting-edge best practices in the field.
We provide a 24/7 support line and emergency shelter for victims of intimate partner violence and their children. Court accompaniment, adult and children’s counseling and case management are available to both shelter residents and victims living in the community.
We provide an array of best-practice services to adult victims of sexual violence and to children and their families when there is a concern for child abuse or trauma exposure. We provide services to children and their families at no cost to the child or family. All services are confidential.
