Hopeful Horizons’ CEO, Kristin Dubrowski, has been working in the victim service field since 1999. Prior to her move to South Carolina in 2004, Ms. Dubrowski was the director of a domestic violence shelter in Denver, CO. She was hired by CODA (Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse) in 2004 and became the executive director in 2007. In January of 2017, after two years of planning, Ms. Dubrowski helped lead the merger of CODA and Hope Haven into Hopeful Horizons, a children’s advocacy, domestic violence and rape crisis organization that serves a five-county area in the Lowcountry. Ms. Dubrowski initially became the Chief Operating Officer for Hopeful Horizons and then assumed the role of CEO in January of 2019.

​Ms. Dubrowski has a B.A. in Women’s Studies from Cornell College, a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University and she is a South Carolina certified Victim Service Provider. She is an appointee to the South Carolina Crime Victim Advisory Board and she serves on the board of the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers and the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, Human Service Program Advisory Council.
