Chief Development Officer

As Chief Development Officer, Julia helps identify and cultivate funding opportunities to support Hopeful Horizons’ programs. Julia grew up in upstate South Carolina and has worked in non-profit for over 10 years. Her first development position was for an animal rescue and she grew with her career in the higher education sector before shifting her focus on human services and advocacy. Julia previously worked at MUSC and The Citadel Foundation prior to her move to the Bluffton area, and came to Hopeful Horizons from Brightside Child and Family Advocacy where she served as Director of Development for the Savannah CASA and The Bright House Visitation programs.  She joined Hopeful Horizons in early 2024. Julia has a strong devotion to supporting victims/survivors of abuse and advocating for youth and families within our community.

Julia has a BA in Global Studies from Framingham State University and an MA in Social Science from The Citadel. Prior to fundraising, Julia worked in the marine and tourism industry in both the USVI and in Charleston, SC. She lives in Bluffton with her husband and their four children.
